Friday, December 5, 2008 Connecting With Your Audience Online

Connecting With Your Audience Online

Today’s online users spend an average of 33 hours a week in front of their computers. Almost twice as much time as they spend watching television. The importance of finding your audience online is a major priority for any advertising campaign. In fact, this year, online will represent 9% of total media buys exceeding the money spent on print and outdoor advertising. However, higher buys don’t necessarily translate into desired results. Knowing that, during these troubled economic times; advertisers expect accountable solutions for finding their target audience online. It is imperative that agencies provide strategic ways to connect with audiences in an environment they know and trust.

Join PAF and Jay Corson, Vice President for Account Services for Big Fish Marketing, for a revealing look at how they’ve spearheaded successful campaigns using online engagement strategies that connect with audiences via contextually relevant media buys, engaging online advertising, buzz worthy viral games, online PR and social networking communities.

Jay and his colleagues have created and executed strategic marketing plans for a prestigious client list that includes ABC, A&E, Bravo, Comedy Central, E!, HBO, MTV, NBC, Lifetime,  Oxygen and TBS. Over the past 5 years, Big Fish has employed cutting-edge tactics to harness the power of the Internet to drive audience tune-in to highly successful shows such as South Park, Sex and the City, Lost, Project Runway and more.

About Us:

PAF Celebrating 100 year of setting the standard for the Creative, Design, and Media Community!

You'd think New York or San Francisco, not Portland, was this country's first club of that kind. In 1906, a group of business and professional leaders put their heads together to form an ad club, establishing Portland as a leader in the creative business community. 100 years, at least 76 presidents, and three name changes later, the Portland Advertising Federation, now known as the PAF, is one of the strongest ad clubs in the country.

Coming into the 21st century, PAF is focusing on its program activity and benefits on explicit member disciplines. PAF programs run throughout the year and have been instrumental in bringing some of the most exciting and innovative thinkers in the business to our region. To name a few: John F. Kennedy, JR. Malcolm Gladwell, author of The Tipping Point Chris Riley, Head of Planning, Graphic Design Group, Apple Computer, Inc. Jameel Spence, President of New York-based Blue Flame Marketing & Advertising. Neal Stewart, Brand Manager of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Andrew Keller, CB+P, Group Creative Director on MINI. Kevin Carroll, brand evangelist and ESPN show host. John Butler, principal at Butler Shine Stern & Partners, author of Converse Brand Democracy. Joey Carson, CEO of reality television pioneers Buni-Murray Productions.

PAF is member inclusive, including all disciplines in communication arts: advertising agencies, media partners (radio, TV, and print), interactive communication, and client-side marketing professionals. Each Executive Director and each Board of Directors makes their mark on the progress and future of PAF. Current Executive Director Jamie Sexton is working with the Board and Executive Committee on an aggressive marketing approach for PAF that includes re-branding, value-driven educational programs, new member development, and outreach to the member community.

As the history of PAF is updated each year, a constant appears to be the club’s willingness to change with the times. Who knows what the next 100 years will bring?
