Tuesday, June 24, 2008 PAF's "PK" Night
The communications environment is becoming more sophisticated and frequently clients' needs are not met completely by the established client/agency model. Any given project can have several elements not typically found in a traditional advertising agency environment: interactive/website design, event management, media planning, public relations, market research, mobile marketing, etc. Agencies of all types are finding the benefit in working with integrated teams from various disciplines to meet client and project needs.
Join PAF's Portland CAN (Collaborative Agency Network) for the newest in business networking. Fifteen (15) people will get :90 seconds and three slides to tell their story. Slides will advance automatically every :30 seconds, so everyone has to keep their pitch short and to the point. Refreshing, right?
Don't want your time in the spotlight? No problem! As a result of these brief presentations you'll be able to identify the members of your integrated team - partners for all types of advertising, marketing, and communication projects. Food and drink (no-host) will be served - all the makings for a great time.
The first 15 to sign-up secure their place in the limelight (you will be notified by PAF). At that time you'll be asked to submit your slides and away we go. If you’re interested in this sort of thing—or just want to meet some new people—come to the PdxCAN "PK" night.

About Us:
PAF Celebrating 100 year of setting the standard for the Creative, Design, and Media Community!
You'd think New York or San Francisco, not Portland, was this country's first club of that kind. In 1906, a group of business and professional leaders put their heads together to form an ad club, establishing Portland as a leader in the creative business community. 100 years, at least 76 presidents, and three name changes later, the Portland Advertising Federation, now known as the PAF, is one of the strongest ad clubs in the country.
Coming into the 21st century, PAF is focusing on its program activity and benefits on explicit member disciplines. PAF programs run throughout the year and have been instrumental in bringing some of the most exciting and innovative thinkers in the business to our region. To name a few: John F. Kennedy, JR. Malcolm Gladwell, author of The Tipping Point Chris Riley, Head of Planning, Graphic Design Group, Apple Computer, Inc. Jameel Spence, President of New York-based Blue Flame Marketing & Advertising. Neal Stewart, Brand Manager of Pabst Blue Ribbon. Andrew Keller, CB+P, Group Creative Director on MINI. Kevin Carroll, brand evangelist and ESPN show host. John Butler, principal at Butler Shine Stern & Partners, author of Converse Brand Democracy. Joey Carson, CEO of reality television pioneers Buni-Murray Productions.
PAF is member inclusive, including all disciplines in communication arts: advertising agencies, media partners (radio, TV, and print), interactive communication, and client-side marketing professionals. Each Executive Director and each Board of Directors makes their mark on the progress and future of PAF. Current Executive Director Jamie Sexton is working with the Board and Executive Committee on an aggressive marketing approach for PAF that includes re-branding, value-driven educational programs, new member development, and outreach to the member community.
As the history of PAF is updated each year, a constant appears to be the club’s willingness to change with the times. Who knows what the next 100 years will bring?
