Oregonian Article…

I had the pleasure of speaking to Ms. Oppenheimer (new to our “beat” for the Oregonian) about current market conditions. We discussed the many positive opportunities that avail themselves in a down market. Businesses that don’t respond quickly may be at a disadvantage – not extinction, a BIG difference. Granted, “disadvantage” doesn’t have the drama of “extinction” but it’s accurate. What do you think? -Jamie Sexton, ED, PAF

Good question, Jamie. Can you post a link to the article?
Here’s my take on the question. Nobody wants to overdramatize the current situation in the marketplace. Still, we are in a recession. By that definition, we can expect to see businesses go extinct. While that can happen for any number of reasons, the burden is upon decision makers to work smarter than ever and to stay alert and nimble, quickly seizing business opportunities when they come. Those that don’t may find their shop going the way of the dodo.
